If you are thinking about going on a vacation to Italy, there are so many incredible places to see. But in this article I'm going to focus on one of the best parts of Italy: The Tuscany tours. Do you appreciate beautiful architecture? You'll never see better examples than in Tuscany. In Tuscany there are the most picturesque and the most exquisite architecture in the world.
There are at least six UNESCO protected places in Tuscany. This means they are protected by the international World Heritage Program. They protect these sites as outstanding culture for everyone. Consider that there are just 851 sites in the entire world that are protected. When you go on your Tuscany tours vacation, you can enjoy 6 of them.
Some of the sites that are protected are the centers in Florence, Siena, Penza and San Gimignano. Also are the Val d'Orcia and the square of the Cathedral of Pisa, which is also known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
In Siena there is the Duomo cathedral, which represents the great Italian Romanesque culture. Santa Maria del Flore is in Florence, another place you must see. It is a wonderful piece of architecture. There is an amazing old bridge in Florence called the Ponche Vencho Bridge. The old bridge has shops built alongside it, and it is held up by stilts.
And then we come to San Gimignano, the little town atop a hill. The walled town is famous for its medieval architecture. Even from miles away, you can see its 14 towers.
The 14 towers have seen much throughout their existence, including wars and major disasters. Yet these towers remain as beautiful works of art, which you will be able to view on your Tuscany tours. The Val d'Orcia is protected due to its beautiful landscape of rolling hills and quaint villages. This is a must while on your tour.
When you see these cities, you will understand why they are protected for their magnificent architecture. You can take in all the beauty and history of these sites when you go on one of your Tuscany tours.
